Mizerak is an interesting brand of pool table. Their tables come in 8 or 9 feet which is a nice option. However, they offer three options of play-bed boards, MDF, Slatron and Slate. Slate is the only thing you ever really want to play on. It will last longer, stay smoother and straighter, and its what the pro tables all use. MDF is basically wood and will warp over time and can be chipped. Slatron is like wood covered in hard plastic. Neither is a great alternative unless you rarely use your table. It’s a nice way to be able to save some money on a name brand table though. So I would never play on anything other than slate, but that doesn’t mean you won’t. If you want to save some money, try Slatron for your play-bed. Your table will be a little cheaper and lighter. Here are the Mizerak pool table models:
